The road is one of the most emotion provoking novels I've read, bringing out few of the positive kind. While the setting of the book occurs after a world wide catastrophe and survival is the objective, it also speaks so much more about the necessity of a guiding relationship between a father and son.
This book reads quickly. One evening I sat down with half the book left to read and couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.
Don't pick the book up unless you're prepared to read a really depressing book. I had suggested The Road to a friend and she couldn't get through the book. I had to tell her how it ends.
BOOK RATING: 5 out of 5

Yabbut in my defense, I wasn't reading it, I was listening to it. That made it anything but a "quick" consumption and left way too much time for the horror of the situation to sink in.
